Isaac Van Zandt was born in Tennessee, 1813, and after removal to Harrison County, Texas, in 1839 was admitted to the Texas Bar. Later he served in the Texas Congress as chargeĢ d'affaires to the United States and as a member of the Texas constitutional convention, 1845. He died of yellow fever, 1847, while a candidate for governor. The son, Kleber, was admitted to the Texas Bar, 1858; a merchant in Fort Worth, 1865-1874; thereafter a banker.
